Kevin Naranjo

Kevin Naranjo first exhibited at Santa Fe's Indian Market in 1994. In 1996 he won the award in non-traditional pottery for his sgraffito style black without stones and two others for sgraffito and miniature pottery. In 1998 he received first for his miniature and sgraffito work. In 1999 he won Best of Division. Most recently he received first for miniature sgraffito in the 2006 Indian Market.

Known fondly as the "Turquoise Mountain", Kevin was born on the Santa Clara Pueblo in 1972 into a family of potters. His grandmother Ursulita, his mother Geri Naranjo and his aunt Dolores Curran are all highly acclaimed. He credits his mother and grandmother for his teaching. He specializes in black/sienna Santa Clara sgraffito, a finely etched two-toned pottery. With a great love of the outdoors, his pots, both larger and miniature reflect wildlife themes of animals, woods, mountains and mesas.
